My podcasting hubby

Yesterday my partner Ryan was the featured guest/interview in Episode 5 of the new the "Second Style Podcast," hosted by Tamara Kirshner and Daphne Abernathy. (Yes, and the blog he writes for and edits is part of the Second Style empire too ... it's all very incestuous, but in a good way.)

What the feck does your blog title mean, Seán?

"Ceol agus Craic" means, roughly, "music and good times."

"Ceol" (pronounced "kyohl," all one syllable) simply means "music" in the Irish language. "Craic" (pronounced "crack") means fun, fellowship, lightly mischievous enjoyment and minor (mostly) harmless debauchery in that inimitable and peculiarly Irish way, set to music and fueled by gallons of alcohol.

It's also the title of my Internet radio show / DJ shift in Dublin, Second Life, every other Sunday at 10am SLT, during which I play Irish rock, folk and traditional music, both old and new. It is, I believe, the only DJ shift in Dublin which features, with rare exceptions, exclusively Irish music.

So, who this Seán, anyways?

Seán is a genuinely nice guy -- friendly, witty and deliriously happy (although he can be somewhat of a devil too). His goal in SL is to have fun, be creative and to spread the happiness as best as he can. He'll talk your ear off about food, cocktails and music if you're not careful, though. This can be either good or bad.

Seán is not to be trusted around your potato chips or especially your French fries. He generally won't go for your liquor without asking, though ... most of the time.

He works as a DJ in Dublin, and lives in a Craftsman-style home on a small bay in Otherland with his partner Ryan Darragh, whom he loves very much.

He thinks it is silly to refer to himself in the third person, and even sillier to employ the first person plural. (We are not amused by this!)

The way to his heart is via bacon.

He is (mostly) harmless.
